Recap week 1-I learned a ton and felt really good about S-Th even my Thursday night bottle of wine and Moe's. However, I did wake up feeling horrible on Friday. I did find that I tend to overeat when I drink. I ate an entire Moe's plus another 1/4! gross.
We were up at 6:30 am to pack the car and brush the darn snow off the cars. At 8:10 we were on our way to Boston for the tournament at Gillette. The ride was not a problem but the rain is a bummer. When we arrived, we set up our awning tent, weighted down a tent with our cooler, then headed to the indoor fields for game 1 at noon. The indoor facility was amazing because it was warm and dry as well as humming with excitement as kids of various ages warmed up and cheered. The girls played a co-ed team and lost 2-0 the boys won their game 4-0. The girls stayed to watch other MWV teams while we headed back to get dry and eat.
With TC back at the car, we had snacks-chips, pasta, and NA beer-talked with other parents and relaxed. At 2:15 it was time to hit the stadium for CCs game. They had a 3:00 game against a much stronger, skilled U16 girls team. They lost 2-1. She fits right in with her team. We hung out watching other teams until TC lined up for his 4:30 game. They were playing a U14 team but these kids were quick and skilled. They quickly pressured the ball with numbers up. All it took was a good pass to get out of their pressure cooker but our team doesn't have that communication yet. We ended up winning 1-0 in an intense game. TC had a great save in the net. Somehow he got behind the goalie to hit the ball before it crossed the line. Nice.
After the game, it was dinner time. 5:15-7 I had 1 hard seltzer (not exciting) plus a few sips of another and 1/2 glass chardonnay. The seltzer was refreshing but the 2nd one was pointless and the wine was just silly since I had already eaten and it did not taste that good. So chalk day 8 up to moderation.

I have to recognize that this is a victory. It might not be where I want to be but I am proud. At the tournament yesterday I talked with people and had a positive attitude throughout. There was one period where I walked to Trader Joe's to buy wine because Tucker told me we were out of beer. I am not sure why I did that.
