Friday Day 5

Did not eat enough yesterday to fuel my 5.5 miles plus others. I woke up at 5:15, starving. I took all my supplements and electrolytes and couldn't wait for my bacon-egg wrap, so I ate it. Well, I will get my workout and get on track the rest of the day.

  1. Bacon and egg wrap = 450 and 37g of protein
  2. protein ball-100 calories 6 protein with D&D double espresso with cream
  3. a few bites of steak and broccoli- about 150 calories, 12 grams of protein
  4. Hummus and Triscuits- 5g protei.n and about 200 calories
  5. Tuna and egg wrap with jalapeno, celery, and lettuce mayo = 400 calories and 45g protein

1300 calories, can that be right, and 105g

steps 19k, but the days are not over

2 workouts-10k

workout 2 -warm up 10 min followed by 3 miles of slow walk/jog

Today started out tough because I did not sleep well and I woke up famished. The fasting has been working really well and I am not bothered that I needed to eat this morning. The fasting is in addition to other things in my diet, it is NOT my diet. I feel better when I fast. My brain is clearer without all the insulin rushing around. I also find that I eat less carbs when I wait to eat. Adding carbs to breakfast had become commonplace for me. Not when I have to make it and eat it at school. I am forced to eat whatever I have. I do think that dairy and gluten are hard on my tummy. Quinia tasted good but it gave me a terrible gut ache. Once I got to school the day went well. Teaching the kids about graphing their data was eye opening. They have not had much exposure to it. It went fairly well. After recess, I left school so I could drive Tucker over to Lincoln to meet up with Evan for his birthday trip to Boston. They are going to see Blue Man Group. It should be really fun. I dropped him off then went for my run which was horrible. My hamstring and back pain will not go away. I found a place in North Conway that does movement evaluations. I guess I should go and have them tell me how to correct all of my imbalances. I finished dinner and I am now on the couch waiting for bedtime. I feel good to have week 1 done. I just wish that my body felt better. I am excited to start knocking out the miles but I will have to be content with walking the miles and no more dogs around my waist.

Tomorrow I have a haircut at 8am. The plan is to run over to my appointment in Woodstock, buy a coffee and bring something to eat then get my hair done and walk home. That will get my 2 workouts and hair done by noon. Then what? I guess clean the house and do laundry. This house doesn't even feel like home anymore. I don't have my things here we are a house divided.

I am excited about the possibility of running an ultramarathon. It is a Ragnar but a solo 24 hour race to see how many loops/miles I can finish. I know that I can do 2 laps of each loop as I have done that before. That is about 32 miles.

A round of 3 loops =15.7

The race begins Friday morning at 8am and I have until the following morning at 8am . I think I would shoot for 3 loops. If I had to do the race in a few weeks, I think I would start out with all 3 loops so about 4 hours of running whether that is 3 loops or 4 it doesn't matter. That takes me to noon. eat and change clothes before heading out for another 4 hours from 2-6. I wouldn't mind an easy one at 8 then go to bed from 10 until 5am. I would try for another loop at that point. I am thinking in terms of hours rather than miles but it translates to

green-40

yellow-1 hour

red -1:20=3 hours

green-1 hour--->add on a slow green break at noon-clean up, eat, do the legs, change clothes and back to the trail 2:30-3

yellow-1:10-1:20=4:20

red-1:40-2=6:30

green -50-7:30-8pm finished with 7 trails about 35 miles

yellow-1 hr 30 ===start at 6am and finish at 7:30 for a total of 40 miles
